A derail might be a good idea, but seriously, don't expect volunteers to be doing any moving of cars. That can only be done by qualified RR personel.
It's true that a good part of the initial funding came from ANCNGS, but other sources of money are being pursued for it's completion. It's essential that for the Friends to move forward with our restoration plans that there be "covered work areas". For instance, we planned the roof replacement of 0579 to happen during one work session; we were one rain storm or one critical material shortage from where we would had to leave the car open for a period of time. We were lucky, but still had to finish the work when it was raining.
Come work with us this summer. We will show you how we will put this facility to good use !
