Q. Now that Walt Kimball has passed away; did his Cloe ever get moved over to Orange Empire railway Museum?
A. Cloe is still at the Kimball property and my understanding is that the family and friends occasionally still steam it up. We expect that whenever Betty is no longer living at the family home the locomotive will come to OERM. Last year the family did auction off a far portion of the toy train collection.
Q. is there any plan to operate any narrow gauge equipment on the property?
A. Well, the gas mechanical switcher does operate and the railroad is considered our "third district" and subject to our rulebook, etc. Certain work is being done to the "Emma" that would better enable it to operate in the future (restore tender brakes, repair draw bar, etc.). Biggest conern is the status of the boiler and its construction. To do a thorough inspection the boiler jacket will have to come off, etc. -- and no one quite wants to do that at this time.
