Re: Mystery Car

This other car with the medal is an interesting mystery. As Bret said, it does have lettering on it. It part of the flying Rio Grande Logo. The car is, or was, a high side gon at one time but the sides were removed by the time it came to the SVRy. The car was purchased from the Rio Grande in 1972 and came from their “Durango collection”.
The medal does look like a center cute since the panels are about 2 feet apart down the center of the car. They are not structural.
I know a picture is worth a 1000 words so I hope Taylor will post a picture soon. He is back at the railway for the summer and usually has his digital camera with him.
If we could ever track down the number of this and the other car we still have on the SVRy, we would be very interested.
