For those who may not have access to the Colorado Timetable, I visited Strasburg (CO) this past Sunday to look at the #9 and the #74. No change on the 74, and a little progress on the 9.
There are "No Trespassing" signs on the Uhrich, so any viewing was from a distance.
The #9 has her two rear-most driver sets re-installed, and removal of the front set was in work. The flues are still out, and no other work on the boiler, frame, or firebox was evident. Her tender is south of the Union Pacific tracks and is in the same dilapidated condition as before.
Joseph Bell of the Colorado Historical Society said the #9 should be on the Loop in July of this year. However, Marvin Uhrich has already stated it will take 18-24 months to get the 2-6-2 operational.
(There's a math quiz in there somewhere...)
