Well, technically, the OR&L right-of-way is not rail-banked. Recall that the Hawaiian Railway Society was sucessful in placing some 15 miles of a 40' width placed on the National Register of Historic Places in the 70's. Thanks to that effort, the potential for a further restoration of the line (as part of the Pearl Harbor Historic Trail) exists today.
And lest we forget, trains do operate twice every Sunday between Ewa and Kahe Point.
