Ron, this might be getting a bit arcane, but you mentioned an agreement with the "owners" in 1973. In a previous post somebody mentioned a quote on the engines from the "IRCA". The Guatemala division of the IRCA was nationalized in 1969, and immediately became the Ferrocarriles de Guatemala. But the IRCA did continue to exist both as a corporation and as the operator of their Salvador division. Since the IRCA was probably contesting the nationalization in Guatemala, is it possible that the IRCA in Salvador provided a quote on assets (the locos) in Guatemala since they probably were still claiming ownership. I doubt this is the case, but if it is it would be an interesting footnote to the IRCA's end game.
