Narrow Gauge in Luxor, Egypt

March 25, 2005 01:08PM
I am presently in Luxor, Egypt (home of Valley of the Kings, Karnak Temple, etc.). Our tour bus crossed over some very narrow tracks (I guess about two foot gauge) utilized by sugar cane growers. Do any of you congiscenti out there have any more information? What is the actual gauge? What do they use for motive power? Inquiring minds want to know.
Thanks a bunch.
