King Coal Mine Shipments

March 21, 2005 07:33PM
The bulk of their yearly production is trucked to a "std gauge railroad loop track" about 10 miles NW of Gallup, NM.
Here the coal is loaded into open top coal hopper cars. For the small customers, coal is shipped in blocks of 10-15 cars. About every 20 days an 85 car unit train is loaded, when done the routing over the BNSF Ry is thru Gallup, Belen, El Paso and into Mexico. This large customer is a cement plant!
