1/24/05 Loop meeting: Referring to one poster, Mr. Trottier said that Railstar has already built passenger cars at their Watertown, NY shops, and along with drop-bottom gons rebuilt by Jason Midyette, these cars would carry passengers on this new edition of the Georgetown Loop.
2/24/05 Loop meeting: The enclosed coaches that Railstar said last January were already built at their Watertown, NY plant were, in fact, not yet constructed. Per Trottier, these cars were to be built by a company on the West Coast, but due to a prior ten-car contract with the White Pass & Yukon, that contractor would not be delivering those cars until the second half of the 2005 season and that he couldn't be sure when construction might be started.
How is it that something that was claimed to be “built” by Mr. Trottier on 1/24/05 a month later is now a might be started in the second half of the year? If you are not sure when something is going to be constructed how can you say it will be delivered for the second half of the season? Is this the six “enclosed and open excursion cars” (is that six enclosed and six open or are they convertibles with rag tops LOL) that the CHS announced on 1/21/05 that Railstar was providing? Sure hope the Loop has a dry summer or there are going to be some soggy touristas given that they are probably only going to have open gondolas.
