There are several color pictures in the CRRM Narrow Gauge Calendars as was discussed here a little while ago. The one date that I remember is December 1999.
I'll have to go home and look, but I don't think the Cumbres depot ever got the asphalt shingles. In the real old days the shingles (or was it shakes?) were painted with an oil based box car red (brown) color. Talk about a fire hazard!
