A Couple of Observations
First, I find it interesting that 482 East was called for 8:00 AM and departed only 5 minutes later, assuming this isn't a typo. This doesn't seem long enough for the crew to get their orders at the depot, get to the engines and caboose, perform a last car brake test and get under way, especially when considering it is a 25 car train. From reading these types of posts, it seems that usually trains depart about an hour after the crew call time, sometimes as short as a half an hour or as long as 2 hours.
Second, Extra 488 West called for 9:00 PM appears to be three engines running coupled??! I thought there were specific rules against this. Were there any bridge restrictions west of Chama limiting the number of locomotives that could be coupled together and operate over a given bridge?
