>All that metal work that is going into the Emma Nevada: draw bar, coupler hardware etc is amazing.
We found that the draw bar was binding up as we pushed or pulled the Emma Nevada around through the switches and curves. When the draw bar was taken down the hole was found to be oval on both the draw bar and the casting on the engine. All was taken down and taken to our machine shop and bored, bushed, etc. and then placed back on the Emma.
> I am glad to see that there is work happening in the engine house between using it for Thomas the Tank Engine events. OERM must be the only museum to host one of those in a snow storm.
The building provides a large area for the Thomas retail sales with the Emma and coach #5 on one side of the sales area. Some of the freight cars have to set outside for a few weeks because of this.
Yes, we had some snow. More could be seen on the neighboring hills and mountains. But we had much more cold rain than snow on that last day. We were able to move the outdoor activities inside of one of the street car barns. While some people did not come due to the rain (and we had one or two complaints about the rain -- as if it was our fault) we were selling tickets in the rain.
> Also, Is anyone looking for trucks for that SP narrow gauge passenger car?
The one missing trucks is the Esmeralda #10 business car. No active looking that I'm aware of. We know were one or both of the trucks from the car are now located -- but not available. Also we've obtained copies of the SP drawings of the C&C passenger car trucks that are in the CSRM Library collection.
