Somebody had a story going around, which I read a few years back, about "Fido" being in San Antonio, Texas; one report saying it was operating as a diesel conversion at the Six Flags park there! The c/n checked out, but nobody's ever seen or heard of any locomotive of that description being there other than the two that Stan Matthews and his crew sent down there; rather a Vulcan and a Henschel; not a pre-1900 Porter.
Thanks Jeff for the confirmation on the 15; I'd remembered you mentioned it was OOS for awhile. Not too long ago I found some old home video footage of the 10 in '96 which I messed around with and put onto a DVD, I think it wound up on a few disks by accident with the short "Kahuku" DVD I made (Phil Reader has a copy). I remember the trip well after the park ranger swindled gave us directions to Fish Camp the wrong way, via the pay road into Yosemite.
I remember when old "Milwaukee" would run; I first saw it probably 9 or so years ago...Paul Boschan was working there at the time and was showing us around. For years I saw mention of the "Jackrabbit Motorcar" in promotions and whatnot. This was while the 7 was still in the beginning stages of restoration, and Kahuku's return a thought. How time flies!
I'm hopefully going run by Roaring Camp this Sunday for the first time in about three years for a ride up 'the hill' when I'm in town. Looking forward to it.
