As I recall Menair-Fetzer Corporation rebuilt the running gear on the 148 about 1977 as this locomotive was to go from New Hope, PA to their operation of the former New York Central Adirondack Division to Lake Placid. Seems at the time that although the running gear was rebuilt, there was a substantial amount of boiler / firebox work that needed some attention not too far down the line. The Adirondack operation ended in August, 1980 and although we all heard the locomotive was "on the way" it never came before the curtain went down. Lost track after 1980
