That locomotive had been at Huckleberry for years. It threw a rod through the block and was taken out of service. About 10 years ago I recall talking with Marty Knox and he said that the locomotive was free for the taking.
The Cooper-Bessemer diesel engine is the same as used in the GE 70-tonners.
The engine is unique as it has spoked, tired wheels and rides on C-C trucks. Other than the ex-US Army ALCOs that went overseas and came back, it is probably the oldest existing C-C diesel to be sold domestically. I recall reading somewhere that it was the 3rd such locomotive sold domestically (non-miliary).
