The boiler has been removed from the frame. I guess the "new" boiler came from the SVRy, where they just happened to have an appropriate-sized one lying around! Apparently the trade was for one of those neat WSL "Coffin" tank cars. Also by the way for those that don't know, that's the #6 Shay behind, still wearing Ritter paint...still with her boiler. I remember in the early 90s a Shay engine set strung up out back...I'd thought it was from the 6, but she's all there on the right side. Come to think of it, it was probably from the #7 before she was brought back to steam in 97 or 98 after around 8-9 years of being O.O.S. If anyone here saw "Kahuku" and the #7 circa 1995, you'd really be amazed at how talented the crew down there is!
