Was just in durango early August.Tours are no longer given. You can purchase a ticket for the museum which allows restricted views of the turntable and active portion of the roundhouse. 486 was just about ready to be fired up. There is also a museum in Silverton. If you ride the train your ticket gets you into both. With regards Chama there is much more freedom of movement--just be careful and watch where you walk--you could step into a big pile of grease! Check out and join the Friends of the C.&T.S. Enjoy.
