James,
Once the train comes into Chama there is quite a bit of activity. The trains is broken up and any needed switching for the next day is done. After that the engine heads for the wye and is turned before proceeding to the shop area for servicing. You are welcome to watch, photograph, etc. all of this activity from the yard. Just the freight car inventory and the original buildings could keep you fascinated for days. If you don't have one of the Friend's new walking tour brochures (yard plans and structure identification for both Chama & Antonito) back channel me you address and I will see that you get one.
You are always welcome at the C&TS. That is one of the reasons this is such a great railroad destination.
