As I mentioned in another thread a while back, I had the priveledge of riding the D&RGW NG from Durango to Silverton in 1968 (9 years old at the time). One of my memories of the trip were of the hopper toilets in the coaches. Watching the ties go by while looking down the loo was quite a curiosity at that age. I wonder when they or The D&S eliminated this feature of their cars?
