Just got back from Sumpter this weekend. Had a great time freezing to death all day Saturday on the Fall foilage tour. No heat in the Eccles coach and cold air mixed with snow outside. (At least you could have worn a coat Taylor)
Despite the freezing it was a wonderful day. Both the #3 Heisler and #19 rod engine were steamed up as well as a 10 car freight and the Eccles coach. Lots of photo runbys and general fun.
My thanks to the crew and the volunteers that made this a great day. What to do after freezing for 11 hours? - Head over to the Elkhorn for gin and tonics and a memorable evening with the one and only Ron Harr.
Sumpter is one lively ghost town and I think the Sumpter Valley Railway is soon to receive the respect it's due. Lon
