>Will the 18 be with you on the line.
While not out of the question, it is not in the current perspective. Once track is laid and service initated with the Brill car, it is likely that the #9 will be evaluated for restoration. If any train service is to be provided, finding servicable passenger cars (tourist gons etc) would need to be procured. Restoration of existing passenger equipment would be long, and they are historic pieces with only so much capacity. Getting a diesel for work trains and backup service would be smart.
What will be the name of the RR (SPNG, C&C, or something else)?
The name of the non-profit group extending to Bishop is the Owens Valley Railroad Company. This is derived from the electric trolley line grade (though never constructed) which it is being built on. It is not clear who or how the line would be operated, and the name is probably the least of concerns, but yes one will need to be decided.
>Please keep us posted and what we can do to make it happen.
Follow the link. At a minimum, donations to the project would be helpful. I am chatting with Jim Saylor about what kind of volunteer projects could possibly be scheduled.
>The Brill car is in Laws, at least that's where it was the last time I saw it in June 1999. I assume it's operational now.
Yes, its running as of July 3. There are no regular operations scheduled, but the "house track" is currently being rebuilt by the Laws Museum around the display train and up to the depot. Jim is directing CDF crews today on it.
