I, too was unable to attend the final curtain of the Loop. As head conductor for the Loop for several years, I have many fond memories of my 12 years on the railroad. One that comes to mind is the high bridge dedication ceremony at which the first train derailed on the un-tamped roadbed, forcing the stock car on the ground, and the #40 and the first three gons (with then Governor Lamm on the locomotive) went on to Silver Plume for some ceremonies. I owe my "whiskers" to the folks at the loop and many fond memories of railroading and great people I worked with.
