Steve, I can only answer your question about the roundhouse in Colorado City (betweenn C. springs and Manitou springs). It was built for the Colorado Midland in the 1880's and used by them until abandonment, when it was taken over by the Midland Terminal along with the old CM main line as far west as Divide. The MT ran until 02-20-49. The building stood derelict for some years before being renovated into a pottery factory by the van Briggle folks. Most any book on the CM or MT will have good pictures of the roundhouse in its operating days. Morris Cafky's books on the CM and the Cripple Creek railroads published by the Rocky Mountain RR Club and long out of print come to mind, as do Mel McFarland's books on the CM and the MT, which should still be available.
Sorry I can't respond to your other questions.
Regards,
Ed Stabler
