If I correctly recall posts on this board some months ago when this GLRR mess was beginning, there were comments aplenty to the effect that the majority of residents in both Silver Plume and Georgetown actually hate the railroad. Various "reasons" were offered, typical of the @#$%& mentality against all such railroads anywhere.
So I'd guess that the complacency we've seen in the two towns is more the real atmosphere of most of the locals - they're glad to see GLRR go, and their communities' business status is actually secondary to that obsession.
