I regret not being able to get a lot of good pictures. When I was there, the vegetation had grown too high, and I didn't get a good view of either loco from the road. There were lots and lots of "no trespassing" signs and fine/imprisonment threats, so didn't want to chance getting too close. I sought permission to get on the property, but unfortunately was denied. Thanks for sharing your pics Todd.
I would say several things potentially shut down the line for good. First, it's my understanding that they were leasing the land their track was on. The lease expired in 2019, and the new owners of the land denied permission to renew it. Covid in late '19-20 further complicated things no doubt. Then it seems the previous owners (who had kept the line running from the first closure in '14 through '19) finally sold the line. The fires were the final curtain for the LK&P in this current form. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
