The Hawaiian Railway Society has made numerous efforts to contact the owners both prior to and following the fires that devastated Lahaina. We have never received a response. We thought we had an agreement to purchase ex-OR&L No. 45, the 30-ton Plymouth but the owners appear to have disagreed between themselves and the deal fell through. No. 45 was in rough shape but running when we made our offer. The last time we saw it, prior to the fire, someone had torn off the hood and taken the engine. We would still like to recover and bring No. 45 back to Oahu along with Oahu Sugar No. 5 and some of the original KRR parts and pieces. Unfortunately, we have been unable to get in touch with the owners.
