Curtis: Will look for my notes at work tomorrow. Working from some pics I took of 40's rods here is what I remember.
There were two sets of engines built. They are:
1026E415-417 engines 39-40-41
1026E433-435 engines 42-43-44
When 40 was being prepared for the WP&YR went over the engine looking for those numbers and found the sand dome on 40 is from the 42. 40 went north with 44's tender, which has 40's fuel bunker in it. One of 40's rods on the right side is a Baldwin replacement. Have pics some legible and some not so. If you want will backchannel them to you.
