In that second last photo, I assume the rails were entombed in the pavement all those years? And when I was there this year, it sure answered the questions in an earlier thread on whether the original rails are still usable. They have essentially been lying without ties on and even in the ground for many decades. Quite the huge savings that they are still usable.
