The Climax was owned by Elk River Coal & Lumber running out of Swandale,WV, connecting with the Buffalo Creek & Gauleyand was a standard gauge 50-ton machine.
Carroll Park & Western was 48" gauge, so the engine was narrowed by moving the wheels in on the axles. Roaring Camp's plan was to squeeze the gauge down to 36". 36" is an awfully narrow track gauge for a high-riding 50-ton Climax. I don't think Climax built 2-truck models for 36" gauge an bigger than 40 tons or so.
