K-28s number 471 and 472 were moved from Salida to Alamosa in November 1923 to power trains 115 and 116. The first K-28 in Durango, number 471, pulled passenger train Number 115 into town on December 3, 1923. The track upgrade between Chama and Durango had not been completed and after several K-28 derailments, they were taken off the Chama to Durango segment until the summer of 1924. T-12s were put back on the trains until the line upgrade was completed. Source:
