Re: Advice needed on visiting Georgetown Loop

I just rode the first train from Silver Plume yesterday morning, before catching a flight out of of DIA at 2:20 PM. I think I could have easily spent a day or two photographing trains there. Fortunately, the weather was really overcast yesterday morning, so I didn't feel that bad about having to leave.
For a trip to see narrow gage in Colorado, you'll find these issues of Railfan & Railroad magazine invaluable:
July 1986: Georgetown Loop
June 1988: D&S
July 1990: C&TS
Even though the Georgetown Loop article is 18 years old, I still found it --and the other tow articles-- incredibly helpful.
