Depends on if you are going to go Mario Andretti, or stop and look at all the stuff that there is WAY too much of to look at between said points!
I believe someone told me that 5 hours from Denver to Chama is pretty good time. You *might be at a *slight* time advantage by humping 70 over to Leadville and on down the Arkansas, Poncha, and then down the San Luis to Antonito. I know it took me all damned day just to get across 50 or so miles of the South Park !!!! Things like Salida and Alamosa make it hard to just rip on down the road .... at least for this old junk nut! Not to mention the large quantity of cattle on the road between Antonito and Chama. Is that someone's low-budget idea for speed bumps ? 8^P
