For those "in the know", the water bag became a part of the number. For example: depending upon where the bag was hung, you could have the "four seventy water bag eight" or perhaps "four water bag eighty three"
Concerning the the Colorado Cool-aid, as a card carrying member of the "Cumbres, Coors and Camera Society", I can only say that on my one experience, the goods were in the car and were enjoyed only after the train tied up. Remember, these guys were professional mountain railroaders and knew when to work and when to play. However, there may be other versions of the story from other occassions.
Yes, we actually were issued club cards from that Grand Poobah, himself, Ross Grenard. I still have my card around here somewhere.
