Rod, you may think the title is clear on the locomotive, but the C16 group apparently has information to the contrary. Take a look at their web site under the heading "locomotives" and click on the 223. The 3rd paragraph from the end references a cloud on the title of the engine by Salt Lake City supposedly having a lien. Whether they do or not, I have no personal knowledge and do not have any idea what the lien would be for.. Maybe someone in the forum knows. But, if there is a lien, that can be resolved by either foreclosure by the city, or a quiet title action. At least that is how we would resolve such a dispute here in Nevada.
