I'll second that motion too, John -
I just measured one of my recently posted pics, uploaded at my usual 1020×680 pixels, and it was 12.75 inches wide, or 80 ppi here on the NGDF, for which the V600 is not only adequate — it is probably overkill. OTOH, at the 720 ppi maximum of a good EPSON printer that gives you a print only 1.42" wide, or 4.25" wide if you print at an acceptable 240 ppi. At
Trains magazines requested 8"×10" @ 300 ppi minimum for submissions you need nearly three times the resolution of a full-width NGDF post, and for a fairly sharp 11"×14" glossy print at 400 ppi at least 5600 pixels — pretty close to the Nikon's honest rating of 4,000 ppi for a 35mm original.
In other words, the only way Olaf will get my Nikon Coolscan 9000 is to pry it from my cold, dead hands. Or maybe inherit it and send it to rehab.
