Completely agree John! It's great to see the display on the only part of the Black Canyon route still in existence, right there in context (the bridge crosses the Cimarron River just after the tracks turned away from the Gunnison River). The rock damage is unfortunate, but hopefully repairs to the cab can be made in the near future.
As previously mentioned in this thread, the road which passes the display is the access road to Morrow Point dam. Back before 9/11 you used to be able to drive right up to the base of the dam itself. One afternoon when I'd driven up there, a Bureau of Reclamation employee popped out of an access door and asked if I'd like a tour of the tunnels and passageways inside. "Yes, please!" A fun and memorable experience which will, unfortunately, never be repeated.
