We have a video we have been working on for quite awhile that we hope to get done this year with freights on the NG. Anyway there was a trip out of Durango where we have the crew listed and the conductor is Schaaf. Earl provided me the information, but no first name was given. Its not in the script, but probably an on-screen graphic as I recall.
If someone wants to start a really long-term project it would be fun to start an historical record of trains per year on the 4th Division from Alamosa-Chama-Durango-Farmington primarily freight moves. It would also be cool if there was photographic evidence of these trains to prove they existed. I am pretty sure we could come up with photos of every day trains ran in 1967 and 1968 for example. I know my brother was there in 1967 and shot some stuff but I don't have the dates here, he does.
It would make a neat website to chronicle these trains if enough folks would provide a few photos on different dates. Also stories could be mentioned about each run, and other info like crew, times, train loads, and other stuff. Look at all the trains John West, Olaf, and E. Robarts photographed. That would make a nice foundation for such a project. Just a thought. It would make a nice historical resource of the D&RGW Narrow Gauge operations.
