What you mean-up "Perhaps", Kemo Sabé?
There's so much more alive today than in 1958 out here in the west — like the revived Loop, SV and V&T, plus occasional excursions to the north of us with 4449 and maybe 2472 will be in action again fairly soon. IIRC, there's occasional steam in the upper midwest and way more back east than the late '50s and early '60s, such as at Strasburg, the TVRM and WW&F. No doubt in my mind that we are way better off than perhaps we deserve to be!!

p.s. I spent over 2½ hours during a rainy afternoon yesterday looking through just the "Current Events" album on a curmudgeonly old geezer's photo gallery at [
chasingtrains.smugmug.com]. Anyone who doubts that there is an abundance of railroading out there begging to be photographed – including lots of steam – needs to check out these dozens and dozens of beautiful shots!!!
