According to a history of the Pacfic Coast Chapter of the R&LHS the trip did run. In talking about 1958 Fred Stindt wrote, "....our second annual "big" trip Week With Western Steam between May 30 and June 8 was acclaimed a huge success by the 200 who were along. Steam on the Nevada Northern, Denver & Rio Grande Western narrow gauge, Great Western , Colorado & Southern and the Union Pacific added to the full enjoyment of all."
