Watermelon time on the narrow gauge - Guatemala 1971

After pondering Russo's request for more... frames from S8 movies, here is an action series in stills

Our diesel mixed train enroute from Guatemala City to Escuintla has stopped for a meet. Two dozen or more ladies, balancing trays of sliced watermelons on their heads, have swarmed our train. Business was brisk, but now the ladies are moving on to the siding as a steam powered mixed train approaches from Escuintla in a cloud of oil smoke. The Fuego volcano is steaming in the distance











For a long time I wished I had taken more slides and fewer movies, and it took many years to finally decide to get the movies digitized, but now I find them fun to watch in spite of their low resolution. So I plan to get them edited and posted when we finally get fiber optics in the spring (hopefully).
