Thanks Greg Scholl, for posting your beautiful photos - I was hoping that my low resolution movie scans would encourage posting some clear views of the Farmington branch.
I should make a slight correction to my shots near Posta. As I recall, the only other railfans chasing this train were Bob Richardson and Stanley Rhine. They were driving a yellow Carryall. I distinctly remember riding with them in that Carryall, but couldn't quite remember the circumstances. Now I can reconstruct events - I left the VW at Hwy 550 and rode with them down the gravel road to the RR crossing near Posta. They knew the terrain, and I was not that familiar with it, having only ridden the length of the Farmington branch, and only having chased the northern end of the branch previously.
Moving right along, here is the train passing the tank at Bondad
Here is one more movie frame, taken south of Bondad
Continuing on to Aztec, I found 484 setting out the two box cars that had been right behind the engine. Bob Richardson and Stanley Rhine had arrived in Aztec a little ahead of me.
A closer up view of 484 by the Aztec depot
The crew has coupled 484 back on to the train for the run to Farmington. The brakeman on the right is carrying a pretty sizeable brake club.
(I realize that some of these photos have been posted before, but my justification is that these were scanned from the original negatives rather than from prints)
