In addition:

- The camera microphones are facing out, away from the locomotive.
- The camera is mounted directly to the pilot, and likely better picks up noise and vibration transmitted from the pilot truck through the suspension to frame and pilot.

Perhaps it is just the school trains not operating near max tonnage, but we generally have the Johnson bar close to company notch even when climbing the 4%...
