We just returned from a long weekend in Chama. We had a great time and the food situation was very good. We ended up visiting Outlaw BBQ (and ended up meeting some fantastic folks from the UK we shared a table with) and Local.
Both had limited hours, but worked out very well for dinner.
Outlaw had your standard BBQ fare - pulled pork, sliced and pulled Brisket, sausage, and ribs. Also had some good fixin’s with it AND cobbler if you wanted that for dessert (my brother and I had the two meat plate and was stuffed).
Local (the pizza place) also was very good with a few salads or soups to choose from, along with some great pizzas and beers. We ended up visiting Local twice, as one day was a bit colder on the pass…so some good Soup hit the spot.
Note: for breakfast we packed breakfast burritos and for lunch we made sandwiches when on the break from the east and west bound trains.
