I have been dealing with a typical SPng unknown... We have box 10 at Ardenwood. Sometime after 1942 or so it was completly rebuilt... So compleatly that it grew 3" in length. We suspect they turned the old body over, burned it and put a new body on the exsisting trucks.
So far I havent found a record of the rebuilding... We guess about 1946 (there is both old and new SP boxcar red on the body, but no earlier numbers, but the Railroad Equimpment Regesters still show the old dimensions...
