While there certainly were far more locomotives (dual gauge track helps with that) and attendance may have been higher (Carson City is a reasonable weekend trip from California's coastal metropolises, a stark difference from the isolation in Antonito or Chama) I don't know if it "rivals" the roundup. Cumbres & Toltec had two distinct advantages over the Nevada State Railroad Museum: scenery and mainline length. I personally only spent one and a half days at the steam up this year, whereas I spent six days at the roundup last year.
