The RFP has finally gone out for the entire scope of the project. This has been a massive undertaking with many parties to thank. Bids are being solicited for not only the main Palisade wall, but several others between it and the Alpine Tunnel complex that also need repair. It is the hope of all involved that the budget will allow for all of the walls to be repaired to "as built" condition. A total of $900,000 has been raised through many avenues, and your support in letter writing has been important.
Although the RFP has taken much longer to be approved by the Forest Service than was hoped, there is still optimism that work will begin this season (approximately mid-June, weather permitting). There is lots of information in the very detailed RFP found here:
