In looking at the most recently posted image of the #5, it appears if the middle driver is blind - no flange. If this is true, I find it interesting. I've never heard of a 2-6-0 with a blind driver before. Of course, it could be nothing more than my eyesight and the image making me think this.

And for the mechanical engineers, how much loss of power, efficiency, etc, is caused by the lack of boiler insulation and jacketing?

#5 looks very handsome in her restored condition.
