I'm fairly fluid as to the time period, on Trainz we have a lot of C&S engines and rolling stock and a limited selection of DSPP locos , no RS at the moment for that era , although it could be reskinned to become DSPP items if the creator gives permission to do so.
When I created the Uintah, which also changed markedly over its lifetime, I included things that had been changed in the past in case anyone wanted to model it in that era, its easy to remove stuff , not so easy to create it . A new version can be made in a just a few days if changes are only minor.
Likewise with the DSPP , at this remove its almost impossible to make it 100% accurate as mines were opening and closing ( as was the tunnel ) and different towns waxed and waned as they changed place as the end of the line.I'll probably make it so its a decent representation of a number of eras and may even modify it so it can be made into a DSPP route, a DLG route and a C&S route.
Station layouts were fluid to say the least, Murphys Switch is a perfect example of how hard it would be to make a definitive version, photos show two tracks across the Romley bridge, the ICC shows only one track and a road crossing ! The Hancock Wye doesn't feature in the 1918 ICC report at all.
the one image I have of the wye looks much earlier then 1901 as there was a power house and boarding house next to it and its doubtful they would have been needed once it ceased to be the 'end of the line "
One good thing about railroad sims is, they are easy to make different versions and if i ever have the time ,I'll make a winter version which would be fun to drive, which would most likely be C&S era as there are more stock options available. The C&S valuation report is available on the DSPP restoration site , although its a bit hard to find and I also found a fair amount of drawings of the Alpine tunnel and station etc at the library of congress.
