I had forgotten about the stuff that went to Durango. In a sense it was odd that the D&RGW would sell the stuff to the states, as it would be potential competition for the Silverton Branch, which they kept for another 10 years or so. But I guess D&RGW wanted to dispose of as much as possible in regards to NG steam that wasn't the Silverton branch. I think I also read or saw pictures of the stuff marked for D&RGW and others for C-NM. For a few years there it was still neat to stop in at Alamosa and see some of the engines sitting outside and some inside the roundhouse. I think during that time it was mainly 493 and 498 inside, and they later went to Bradshaw when the D&RGW sold the Silverton line. 499 might have been in there or on the property in Alamosa then also. I visited there in 1969 and 1971 but never scanned much of those trips. Here is one from 1968.
