Re: Why did none of the Conoco narrow gauge tank cars survive?

So, with the sale of some of the Conoco cars to PMEX in 1945, was that the end of the Conoco car story on the D&RGW? I want to buy a few of these nifty new San Juan models and am trying to determine how long they lasted so I know how long I can run them accurately. Also, did all of them end up black or did some of them stay in silver till the end? IF so, what numbers?

Thanks again,
